Conversational Cooking *Giveaway* - Mother's Day Gift Guide 2013

There is no doubt that busy schedules and technology have cut into family time. With family members either lost in their handheld devices or racing to various events, family time and quite often the family dinner has suffered. Conversational Cooking is designed to revamp dinner time and bring it back to family conversations. Think back to the days of fondue, when family and friends gathered around the table, enjoyed food and talked for hours. Conversational Cooking is geared towards bringing that experience back.
When Conversational Cooking author Anne Lawrence first brought a tabletop cooking device called a raclette home from the grocery store as an impulse purchase, there were no directions and no recipes, so she and her children began experimenting to see what they could cook on it. In Anne's words, "That is when the magic began. The kids set down their iPods and gathered around the table and actually began cooking with me. Cooking on raclettes is so simple and easy that it makes cooking fun and accessible for nearly anyone and nearly any age. It was then that I realized that we weren't just having dinner, we were having a conversation and we were having fun together!" It was from those days of experimenting with that first raclette that Conversational Cooking got its start.
It really is a very fun way to spend time together, and teach kids about how to cook. We made a cheese fondue and a chocolate fondue, and it was so much fun!

  2. So basically it's a fondue type device? It looks marvelous, but I'm not clear exactly on what it is.
